Research standards

These standards define how AICA intends to document future engineering work. They are process commitments, not evidence that testing or validation has occurred.

Traceability

Design decisions should connect to stated assumptions, calculations, observations, or test outcomes. Documents should carry a status, date, version, and limitations.

Repeatability

Measurements should include configuration, method, equipment, inputs, environmental conditions, and known sources of uncertainty so the work can be understood and, where appropriate, repeated.

Claim discipline

A single demonstration does not establish reliability. Public claims should remain narrower than or equal to the available evidence.

Safety visibility

Known hazards, operating boundaries, anomalies, and unresolved failure modes should remain visible throughout development.

Inconclusive results

Unsuccessful and inconclusive results should remain part of the record. They may lead to revision, delay, suspension, or a decision not to continue.
